I have a revised manuscript sent for publication and the reviewer had asked from me insert the percentage of homology of protein sequences then discuss, however, I discussed the DNA sequences identity in detailed. Please, I need how can I replay and Does protein homology will be change the discussion, if yes, How?
Homology among proteins or DNA is typically inferred from their sequence similarity. But I understand what you said. What is the best answer should be written inside the cover letter to close this point by the reviewer? I did protein sequence alignment and the same results obtained like DNA seq alignment
I think I will advise you compare the protein sequence of the gene you have amplified with its 3D structure. The percentage homology obtained can be so reported. This is very simple to do using Phyre2 server which is freely available.
