What the best way in Discussion section to remove a confusion on bacterial pathogen which has never recorded in the certain area and by PCR gave the same product size for a bacterium of our study that was found since decades in the area of the study
N.B.
I have worked on bacterium closely related to another one but the later has never recorded before but both are identical with PCR. By the search on PubMed, and other similar websites no results found for the presence of that pathogen
How can I respond to reviewer comment on that debate, can I write that no data available for its presence in Egypt although no references support that except the research on database
You can respond using the same logic way you describe here...
Another possibility is to discuss again this point with your colleagues and co-authors and to find a different mode....

You can add more search engines apart from Pubmed to search. If no other publication is there, you should state that clearly.
if you are sure about this after searching in pub med and other research engines , you have to state: " to the best of our Knowledge, we are the first to ...." and be confident.

Firstly, you have to do a bit of more research to gather more information and secondly after this you engage other co-authors for their contribution on the best way to respond to the reviewer's comments (if you don't have a draft of the response yet). You just have to play around with words like @ Noha mentioned or better still you can also mention that "As far as we know there is scanty information on ...." I think this should address the comment
