as a easy-to-read foundation of causal concepts and
Shipley, B. (2004). Cause and correlation in biology. A user's guide to path analysis, structural equations and causal inference. Cambridge UK: Cambridge University Press.
Don't be distracted from its reference to biology. It's a great introduction.
In addition, Klines 4th edition is very good
