It's either soluble in very acidic water or in DMSO, both of which when used in tissue culture media could prove harmful to the cells. Diluting the DMSO-dissolved compund with water doesn't help, invariably leading to precipitation. What is the best way to dissolve Amphotericin B for tissue culture purposes?

Prepare a stock of 2.5 mg/ml in DMSO, add 1ml in 1litre media to keep the final concentration to 2.5 mg/l , in case u prepare a diff stock add accordingly to the final media. Precipitation after dilution usually disappears after mixing, if it dsnt it's still usable. Sodium deoxycholate improves solubility in water.
