I want to refine one XRD peak of my in-situ xrd but the background is never working good which ultimately fails the refinement. How to refine and adjust the background using GSAS-II
It is not the usual thing to do a Rietveld refinement based on one single peak, but in specific cases it may make sense (even due to unavailibity of software allowing to fit the single peak without a structure model (or is it a part of a larger range; you are not clear on this point).
The following advice assumes that the refinement is supposed to be done on only this peak.
1. Fix everything determining integrated Bragg intensity except for the scale.
2. Only refine one parameter determining the calculated peak position (everything else fixed).
3. Very likely fewer independent background parameters (1 or 2)
4. Check you profile parameters and adjust them such that they imply a narrower peak. The calculated peak width is obviously too large.
This may require manipulation of the parameters by hand on the way to a stable refinement. Of course this requires that you understand what the parameters are doing which you are touching...
