I'm a student in Iran (Asia). Currently I'm working with MRC-5 cells, but my cells unfortunately looks unhealthy. They stopped dividing and do not growing. I tried every possible way to cure them but nothing changed! I think they are senescence.
1- I was planning to receive a flask of MRC-5 cells as a gift from someone in USA, but because of economic and trade sanction enforced by the US government, FedEx doesn't provide services to Iran and DHL provide their services indirectly which means it may take 5 to 7 days for a shipment from USA to deliver in Iran. Now My question is, is it possible for a flask of cells full of media to be outside of the incubator for about 5 to 7 days? I mean is it possible to ship a flask of cells with the situation I mentioned above?
2- Since in Iran we don't have a good repository for this cell line and I'm really need this line, is it possible for anyone to kindly send me a T-25 flask of MRC-5 cells from closer countries to Iran (like Europe or Asia)? I will culture it and when I split them, I will send a cultured flask back.

Suprised that you say you cant get access to MRC-5 in Iran. As you can sse in the relevant Cellosaurus entry:

MRC-5 is available from NCBI_Iran which stands for National Cell Bank of Iran. It is available under that catalog number C125.

I know that National Cell Bank of Iran has this cell line. Also another repository in Iran has this line too I bought my current cell line from them. I said that we dosn't have GOOD repository in Iran !
Unfortunately for some researchers contamination with mycoplasma isn't a problem. Actually they doesn't check for it! I've been bought cells from them twice and both time my cells are highly contaminated with mycoplasma and fungi !!! I don't want to buy a cell line and waste my time and money to treat them. There is some other issues about these repositories that I can't say in public ! So I don't have access to this line in Iran.

Maybe it's because of the title of your question. I wonder, if you should ask the question again, in a new RG question something like "Can anyone provide MRC-5 cells?" or so, so more people will read it and sympathize. I don't have the cells, but other who do might not have a problem sending them.
However, I will ask other groups in my department , maybe I'm lucky.
