When plating the cells onto the MEA, it is hard for me to control the diameter of the droplet plated. Is there any way to regulate the size of the droplet seeded onto the MEA?
Yes, MEA refers to the micro-electrode array. In fact, what I want to control is the cell densities (cell/mm2).
The droplet, 20ul, is produced using micropipette. When plating the cells, I can control the cell concentration (cells/ml), but when I pipette the cells onto the MEAs, the droplet in each MEA is of different size, causing them to have different cell densities cells/mm2). And this difference in densities at times affects the growth of the neuron cultures.
So I need to think of a way to control the size of the droplets, so as to ensure the cell densities are about the same.
I have searched through many relevant publications, but none of them states the way to control the cell density.
