A rather naive question incoming: is there a difference in efficacy between free base and citrate salt forms of tamoxifen? They have different solubilities according to sigma and some other sites, but it's fairly confusing as to if there is a difference in animal use.
A related question is, is there a reason why people do not deliver tam in DMSO or EtOH IP? I would imagine delivery would be much easier and absorption would be nearly immediate as opposed to a depot of oil which slowly leaches out the drug.

I was poundering about the same question. It appears to be no significant differences in either when it comes to animal use, or at least we couldn't tell. I guess it is just their solubility that differentiate them. If I remember correctly, base-free is more soluble, thus can be implanted under animal skin or other areas with less fluids. This also allows it to be absorption rather quickly if delivered in oil.
