Dear Colleagues

We know that L-gulonolactone oxidase catalyzes the reaction of L-gulono-1,4-lactone with oxygen to L-xylo-hex-3-gulonolactone and hydrogen peroxide. Is this reaction reversible? Or is it possible that L-gulonolactone oxidase diminishes hydrogen peroxide by using ascorbate and produce L-gulono-1,4-lactone and oxygen?
