ELISA and western blots are only as good as the antibodies used to make them - but despite a plethora of published westerns for measuring p53 there are very few reports using ELISA. I have multiple samples and multiple cell fractions, so ELISA would be easier/quicker (although I thought to validate with a western a high and low groups for the publication). What are people's thoughts on ELISA vs westerns, in terms of robustness, accuracy, precision, and specificity?
