But you'll dilute your stock soln (in 90% ethanol or 100% DMSO) into culture medium to give a range of test concs. so you really want to know at what final conc. is your solvent causing cytotoxicity. You could (and should) determine this yourself using an anticipated range of % (v/v) under the conditions of your treatment but without the active solute. You'll also want to visually examine your test solns plus solute to determine if it remains in soln or doesn't precipitate after dilution. Typically, solvents are kept below 1% (v/v) final conc.
Thomas J Raub Thank you sir for your reply. The cells to which highest concentrations of the drug was added, doesn't gave results supporting dose-dependent cytotoxicity. The cells were appeared to be somewhat fixed. But the cells at lower concentration and positive control are all fine.
