Well it depends on what particular aspect you are looking out for in cardiotoxicity. There are different cell lines available ( H9C2 eg.) and expression of many cardiac membrane protein varies among cell types.
At industrial level, people go for iPSc based screening coupled with screening of cells heterologusly expressing major cardiac ion channels such as hERG, NaV1.5, IK1..
1) Human Embryonic Kidney (HEK) and Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines with stable and heterologous hERG channel expression are widely used because of their commercial availability.
2) Alternatively you can use 2D models based on cardiomyocytes derived from hiPSCs (hiPSC-CM) or even 3D in-vitro models (artificial cardiac tissues using hiPSC-CMs)
