Yes but we may need to be extremely careful on the approach/method to be adopted as to avoid being the one giving the pre-knowledge of terrorism to the pupil at that sensitive stage. A well-developed curriculum on society, relationship among different tribes/ethnics/religion/ may be a starting point in our campaign.

Terrorism has it roots in extremism which is invariably germinated and thrived by educational systems that have an ideological basis. Consequently, as you have rightly observed , the general educational systems in all communities should familiarize the young with devastating impacts of terrorism by emphasizing the importance of diversity and freedom of individuals in practicing whatever faith they want to practice. Astounding mass executions in Saudi Arabia and terror attacks in Sri Lanka are typical examples showing why such an educational investment is an absolute necessity. As our holy book Quran states, "There should be no coercion in choosing a faith". Terrorism and extremism have no place in today's civilized societies.

Just to remind - we are already teaching children to love, to be peaceful, we are teaching them against violence etc. That's the part of curricula from the earliest elementary school classes, even for preschool age. And many countries are doing similar. And it's obviously - something is missing in this strange world.

Yes, I was hoping for an answer along the lines of what Dijana wrote. It's so obvious that something is missing, because all of the other suggestions have always been tried. Perhaps the problem is that terrorism is not taught as being terrorism. It is taught as being righteous, ridding the world of "evil," ridding the world of whatever different individuals might think is undesirable in the world.

Often, but not always, we are dealing with religious beliefs. How do we teach people, at a young age, not to be so darned stubborn and certain, that what they are told to think is completely correct? That's the way to solve the problem, in my view. Add some doubt to what you think is certain. Re-evaluate, re-analyze, your beliefs, on a regular basis. Don't just accept what someone says.

Terrorism may come by some legal processes involved in daily life, education and even in the religious processes. Sometimes for the miscommunication and misunderstanding among the individuals and groups .

We can do that in early stage of our education system. Besides, we need to teach our children about social responsibility, think win-win and uphold peace in our relationships with others. Any disagreement / dispute need to be addressed / resolved via dialog / debate rather than using detrimental actions.
