Hey all !
I want to select offset nodes in ansys APDL from a irregular surface uniformly. I tried selection logic but failed because constructed surface is not in defined coordinates (PFA picture).
In my case i want to select all nodes uniformly from the surface nodes to the distance of 1 but failed.
Kindly help me

This is one of the approach, may be it works, " The procedure as follows
1. First of all we try to know that how to offset the node in command prompt command.
2. Then do the done numbering.
3. It is very easy to find out the specific node number.
4. Then Apply the same command for offset of the specific node number

I am not generally understand your problem, but there is a command in ansys :
Select Entity. by this command you can first select your specific surface and then select the nodes attached to this surface. Also, you can pick your specific nodes by pick.

Hello, can you be more specific describing your problem?
One option is to use apdl from ansys, combining *do comand with nsel,a,loc.
