Hello everyone,

I would like to use RNAlater Solution to store Drosophila gut before extraction. I would like to do that because I have a lot of guts to dissect and I cannot put them directly in Trizol for practical and safety issues. Thus RNAlater seems a good alternative before Trizol and/or Kit extraction.

However, I am wondering how to remove the maximum amount of RNAlater Solution before starting the extraction. I looked at the PDF of RNAlater Solution of Ambion and the proposition they give is only for big tissue like mice liver than you can see without a stereoscope and can easily take with forceps which is of course not my case.

I was thinking about centrifuging my guts before removing the RNAlater Solution but I am afraid they might stick to the tube and that I will remove them with the RNAlater Solution.

Has anyone used RNAlater Solution with drosophila small tissue and find an effective way to remove the RNAlater before extraction?

Thank you for your help.
