I was checking an old protocol I used to do for genomic DNA extraction, and it says "Tris-acetate 40 mM pH 7.8", but I can't remember how it is made, does it mean that I have to make a 40 mM Tris solution and take it to pH 7.8 with acetate?
Yes. You should prepare a 40 mM Tris-base solution and adjust to pH 7.8 using glacial acetic acid.
