I am trying to obtain the lift coefficient plot for a circular cylinder at Re = 200 (density = 100, velocity = 20 and viscosity = 1 kg/ms).
I am using ANSYS Fluent to simulate a transient flow for flow around the cylinder.
I obtained an accurate Drag Co of 1.3 (Tally with literature). But when it comes to lift coefficient, the amplitude is around 0.03.
Here are my reference value:
Area = 0.1 m^2
Length = 0.1m (same as diamtere)
Depth = 1 m
The expected Amplitude of Lift Coefficient is around 0.3. but what I obtained was 0.03. I wanted to know what could cause such a behavior

* mesh resolution
* near wall mesh resolution in terms of y+
* turbulence model and diffusivity (damping) of the applied solution algorithm
* (U)RANS vs. SRS (e.g. hybrid methods like SAS-SST and SBES) vs. LES
* applied restrictions in the spanwidth of the investigated circular cylinder (you probably do not investigate an "infinitely long" cylinder)
* time resolution of a transient simulation
* Are the individual timesteps all converged? Deep enough?

In principal all the full scope of the so-called "CFD best Practice Guidelines". And the concrete circumstances of your simulation with that regard are not yet all clear from your post.
