The main parameters you have to measure are nodule number, weight, nitrogenase activity, rhizobium population, N2-fixing ability, microbial biomass in the rhizosphere, root length and biomass, shoot length & biomass beside other soil parameters like pH, EC, organic matter content, soil moisture, N content and uptake by plants etc. both under un-inoculated and inoculated condition.
