Do you mean that 50% of the cells get lipid drops ? That is quite good for 3T3L1 cells. The initial plating density, and the level of confluence when you added these factors can affect the differentiation rate. Hope this helps!

It is also going to depend on the source of the 3T#-L1 cells. Is this a low passage? The source of insulin is also important.
