How to find desired cell lines of certain mutations and certain types? For example, I'd like to study PTEN in prostate cancer. I need PTEN deficient cells and PTEN wild type cells. For each kind of cells, i need at least 4 cell lines. How to find names of those cell lines?
I know this is an easy example that can be easily found in papers, but for other genes and cancer type, is there any website for cell lines in which I can type in cancer type, and my genes to find my desired cells? thanks.
The collections that you need maybe find in the ATCC catalog and others sites that have cell line to sell. I do not have notice about another way besides catalogs and papers, sorry! But It is a great idea to a new site! Good lok!

You first need to do some literature search to find representive cell lines in your line of research. Sensitivity for various drugs, know mutations etc.

Is the ATCC direction to find the cells you are looking for.
You can always look at either the Broad-Novartis CCLE (https://portals.broadinstitute.org/ccle/home) or the Sanger Cell Line Project (http://cancer.sanger.ac.uk/cell_lines) to identify the cell lines you want by cancer type / gene mutational status then use the ECACC or ATCC to purchase the cell line
