Hai, can someone help. I want to use the DPPH method to analyze lipstick's antioxidant activity. But, can I dissolve lipstick in methanol? Is it possible for lipstick to dissolve in methanol?? Sorry for my bad English :)
Why not to try yourself to dissolve your material in methanol or in ethanol before asking your question?
Yurii V Geletii I already did it actually, but the lipstick is not really dissolve. That's why I am asking because some journals that I refer to mention that they used methanol to dissolve the lipstick. But, when I try it by myself, it is actually not really. So, I am confused right now, is there any procedure or other solvent that I can use to dissolve the lipstick?
Btw, the lipstick that I use is the lipstick that I made by myself using roselle extract as a dye.
The formulations of lipsticks are different. Not all of them might be soluble.
You may check only the antioxidant activity of your roselle extract. For reference, see

Maybe if you look the methods used for similar products, such as cocoa butter or chocolate. Hope you may solve your problem.
Hello, You should try to dissolve your sample in methanol and then take an aliquot of it and resuspend it in a solvent with a higher polarity similar to that of your curve (ethanol) and I consider that it is important to evaluate it in all your product, because the matrix could affect the antioxidant activity
