Hello,
I need to prepare a high concentration solution of insulin (20 mg/mL, i.e. around 520 U/mL). I tried dissolving in 0.001 M HCL (pH 2-3) and the result was a milky turbid solution, slightly diluting resulted in no precipitation but still not a clear solution. (I tried vortexing, heating to 37 degree, and stirring for 30 mins, with no clear benefit).
Does anyone have a protocol for dissolving recombinant human insulin powder in high concentrations?

Thank you for your reply. I am aware of this and I used the same protocol he recommended and it doesn't work at this concentration. Maybe it works for lower concentrations though.
pH is the factor. Although 20mg/ml is very very high concentration.
