Various pandemic diseases have taught us various lessons from time to time, lastly, the spread of corona virus spread has shown how fickle human condition or survival is in face of sudden outbreak of dangerous diseases!
What are the human security implications of 'corona virus spread' around the world?
The major security implication is the uncanny exploitation of the situation by 'evil men' littered here and there. Just imagine a man who entered Nigeria on board an aircraft with an infected Italian. The whole country is looking for him and he knows but is in hiding. What do you think he's trying to prove? Maybe, he is one of the 'evil men' I mentioned.
The threat is great. Compared to different influenza variants, the coronavirus causing Covid-19 causes a much higher level of infectivity and mortality. There is no confirmed data regarding the unambiguous, fully explained source of this virus. We do not know how long the pandemic will continue to develop in different countries and on a global scale. There is no vaccine or other effective treatment yet.
In addition, it is already certain that the influence of the Coronavirus causing Covid-19 disease will also be very large on the global economy. In 2020, the recession of the global economy is very likely. In 2-3 months the global economic crisis may appear the largest since the 1980s and in some countries the largest since World War II.
In view of the above, I believe that the development of a coronavirus pandemic that causes Covid-19 disease is dangerous for the development of civilization. In addition, the development of the Coronavirus pandemic will bring about major social changes. The scale of economic and international globalization will decrease. The scale of using ICTs in the communication of citizens with institutions will increase and the development of e-commerce will accelerate.

The COVID 19 pandemic is causing waves of horror and anxiety across the globe, and this is reflective of how the pandemic has affected international (and to an extent local) mobility thus playing down on trade, tourism, leisure, and conventional workplace productivity. The threat is magnanimous and seems to have a far-reaching effect on human life compared to any other disease in time past. What is, therefore, the connection between the coronavirus and the importance of internet communication? Does this bring us to align our thinking that the virus is an artificial virus that has been orchestrated in the laboratory or we should remain adhesive to the virus’s natural existence? How do we relate a virus in the name of a virus with the internet of things or the so-called artificial intelligence? Was the virus created to keep humanity out of its mainstream freedom and liberty thereby reducing man to interact more with the computer? If that’s the case, how is the world going to look like? Are we going to eat computerized food as well as many do adhere to the concept of artificial intelligence and electronic source of knowledge? Does this imply that empirical research will no longer be valuable or there will be another means only through artificial intelligence to man field inquiry? These and many more questions seemingly will remain unanswered as we delve into various means to seek for the solution of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Corona virus attack has exposed the poor state of social, economic, cultural and political situation of Africa. Despite the relatively liberal havoc of the virus in Africa, the missing gaps in policies formulation and political motivated implementation gives much to be desired for better.
While we are locked in our homes, food production will be curtailed (no farming, no transportation, no business) which will affect food security. This challenge will be severe in developing countries who highly depend on supports from Europe and USA who are the most hit by the virus.
Human security is based on their welfare and the ability to sustain it. With the covid-19 pandemic, the capacity to meet basic human needs, food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care is greatly compromised or under pressure especially in developing countries. Therefore the situation is dire and requires urgent mitigation and adaptation measures.
