I am just wondering how long cytokines can be undegraded in the fridge.
In culturing T cells, I usually add fresh cytokines into culture media.
Some researchers say it"s OK to make culture media with cytokine such as IL-2.
Is there anyone has some knowledge about this ?

You can keep Cytokines in -80Co for 5 years but if you thowe it store at 4Co and use them,
Not very long..........in a day you will see degradation or find decreased activity.

I would aliquot the cytokine in small volumes (maybe 1000X concentrated) and store it at -80 degrees. Then each time you need fresh culture medium, thaw an aliquot of IL-2 or such and prepare a fresh culture medium with the growth factor in it. This way you are sure that the activity of your factor is consistent over time and between assays.
