I already have the 5 mM Borate Buffer and the 100 mM Borate Buffer. I also have 10% BSA. How do I create 5 mL of the WB and 5 mL of the SB? I need these two buffers to couple carbon nanoparticles with an antibody (low molecular weight- 20 kDA). The antibody has a pH of 7.5 and has a concentration of 1 mg/mL.
Is it necessary to sterilize it if I am placing an antibody in it?
Do I just stir the two solutions together with incubation?

Washing buffer
If the exact concentration of the borate buffer isn't that important, you can add 0.5 ml of 10% BSA and 4.5 ml of 5 mM borate buffer to get 5 ml of 4.5 mM borate buffer with 1% BSA.
Or you could add 0.25 ml of 100 mM borate buffer and 0.5 ml of 10% BSA and 4.25 ml of water to get 5 mM borate and 1% BSA.
Storage buffer
4.5 ml of 100 mM borate buffer and 0.5 ml of 10% BSA gives 5 ml of 90 mM borate buffer with 1% BSA.
If you need exactly 100 mM borate buffer, you will either have to start with a more concentrated borate buffer stock solution or dissolve the BSA directly in the 100 mM borate buffer.
