Chronoamperometry is done to check the stability of the sample throughout the time period when the current is flowed but here in above case the system is turned off and their is still some current is present and due to presence of current in sample even after switching off the current it not decreasing sharply and showing peak as getting some amount of current that is still flowing in the system.
several reasons can be described:
- if we compare this residual current (after switching off the light) with the initial current, is it significant?
- if the material to which you're applying chronoamperometry is porous, when the light is switched off, weak currents will flow through the pores.
