I would like to evaluate new bone formation in response to a biomaterial. TRAP (Sigma kit) seems to be a good option for osteoclasts but I am not finding a histochemistry method for osteoblasts (such as ALP). Should I perform immunohistochemistry for ALP? Has someone experience with any antibody?
Osteonectin is a IHC marker for human osteoblasts. Maybe it's also reactive with rat osteoblasts.

H&E is good for detecting osteoblasts, as is Goldner's Trichrome. Both are relatively simple and inexpensive (and fast!).
A collagen (pro-col1) antibody/ marker?
Look up PMID: 11771662 and PMID: 11450698 - mouse transgenic models, but still relevant considering the promoter control. If Osteoblasts differentiation state is of critical importance in your application!
Thank you to you all for your contributions. I am just interested in to show that there are osteoclasts during bone repair induced by a biomaterial. I have done H&E, Masson's Trichrome, TRAP, CD68 and CD163. As inflammation is an important topic of this work so I choose CD68 and CD163 as receptors. Your inputs provided me other solutions that I can explore if any question rises regarding osteoclasts development.
