I am a PhD student in milano-biccoca university and have a question about changing the pH in gold nanoparticles solution. The pH of my gold nanoparticles is about 2 and I need to increase it to 6. I found that by adding NaOH or sodium acetate buffer the nanoparticles start to aggregation. I would like to know how can I increase the pH without any change in nanoparticles' size and shape? (the stabilizer is CTAC) Thanks for your kind attention
Try to add some pH-independent co-stabilizer, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) for example.

the main problem is about the stabilizer which is ionic. I guess since the pH is increased by adding more electrolytes, this might decrease double-layer thickness of the NPs, so repulsive forces would decrease and the NPs might agglomerate.
@Vasily do you think K2CO3 has a same effect?
