Im wondering about how to improve time wasting for mesh. my pc has 2.4 ghz to 3,2 ghz(with turbo) and 12 gb ram. (i7 8 core)
For my project, I have to apply 5mm mesh to a 4m long surface. The fluid zone has dimensions of 4mx2,3mx0,039m. When I apply 5mm mesh to 4m long surface, ansys cant create it within normal time. it takes 30 minutes minimum. even if it is solved, you can not move the mesh because of high forcing.
Im checking the cpu usage. it shows only %9 when solving mesh.Why is it not using more capacity to solve mesh in shorter time? is there a way to rise its usage of cpu for ansys? thanks in advance.
you have to choose parallel option instead of serie, than increase the number of processor to 8.
In ansys 15 there is a option to parallel... use that option combine 2 12 gb ram. (i7 8 core) which is equals to 24 gb ram (i14 processor) is that tutorial is you tube it self

Thanks for your help. The weird thing is that inasmuch as ansys uses all cores by setting number of cpus at 0 in the meshing tools, why does it not use all of them? I see the cpu usage about %3 when solving the mesh.
In contrast, having chosen the parallel option and setting the processors at 8, I saw the fluent used all cores when calculating. The cpu usage was about %95.
So I guess it works only for fluent not mesh.
