Can any one tell me Which are the good standard anti-cancer drugs to make comparative experiments with new investigational anti-cancer drug in MCF-7, HeLa, IMR-32, HT-29 and HL-60 cell lines?
Doxorubicin is the most widely used standard in-vitro cytotoxic agent for MCF-7, IMR-32, HeLa, HCT cell lines. In these cell lines, the IC50 generally lies in the range of 1-3 microM in my personal experience.
You can go with any of the DOX marketed product (Doxil etc.) which will be of no issue when mixing with MEM or DMEM/F12 media while testing for cytotoxicity with your new investigationel anticancer drugs.
Further, if you know the mechanism of action MOA) of your test compounds, related MOA based standard drug could be of better use in-vitro.
People also uses 5-Fluorouracil in some specific assays using colon cancer and other cell lines as well.
