SYBR Green I is an asymmetrical cyanine dye. The relative fluroscence of this dye increases when it binds to double-stranded DNA. This precisely quantifiable increase of fluroscence intensity is used in real time PCR to quantitate double-stranded amplicons produced in PCR. With time at least two oher dyes - EvaGreen and Q4ever Green have been reported with better signal:noise and cost. If you have been using any of these, do you evidence based opinion if either of them are better than classical SYBR Green ? Thanks!
