As it is difficult to extract RNA from old-aged Formalin-Fixed, Paraffin-Processed tissue, I wonder if it is possible to culture tissue, do you think it is possible?
If you legitimately manage to recover a viable cell line from fixed and embedded tissue, you'll have a Nobel prize, your choice of big three Journals to publish in and your choice of universities to get tenure at. You'll also have a lot of suspicion directed at you for achieving the seemingly impossible.
Then, dear Brian, as you say so it is impossible to do such thing, I had this think if somebody already did that. Nevertheless, thank you for your answer.
Considering that Formalin fixes and somehow denatures proteins, it is not possible to culture Formalin fixed tissues. Moreover, Formalin is one of the most toxic reagents to cells.
