I came across some literature showing the evidences of equally altered gene expression of some markers in contralateral site in stroke and EC Lesion. In my experiment, from imuunohistochemistry data I found GFAP expression in contralateral site similar to the ipsilateral site, even after 7 days. But my data is about protein. So, based on other reports indicating increase in mRNA level in contralateral site, is it appropriate to come on to a conclusion of increase in protein expression too? Does increase in mRNA expression of particular gene justify increase in protein expression as well??
