Excess weight is a disease that affects the activity of the human and determines the movement and causes him many health problems. Did you reach such a situation or problem?
I have met at least three colleagues in the past who had serious lifestyle issues affected by obesity, including feeling of low self esteem. Two out of those three made major changes in their lifestyles to get over the issue (the one who could not, was almost disabled and could not change anything). Both succeeded by making weight loss the central-most goal of their lives. They worked with coaches and nutritionists for help. Strong social support was critical in their success. The co-workers were extremely supportive.
The lifestyle is a reflection of the individual's image, self-worth, and the way he sees himself and others. It is an integrated model of activities whether it is a hobby or a kind of sport, shopping or attending social events .

Does excess weight affect your personality or lifestyle?
My answer is, in the usual cases, it's the other way around. Personality and lifestyle are the reasons for the excess weight. It is difficult to break habits, especially bad habits that require less effort.
I had diabetes type II in 1994 because of excess weight. I was somehow lazy and difficult to get work done. I decided to go for diet instead of medecine. My weight went down from 92 to 79 kg. I became more active and more focused on my work. So I am still on diet and it is good feeling.
Yes it does. People who are obese are more likely to have heart disease, strokes, diabetes and cancer. Moreover, psychological consequences of being overweight include lower self-esteem, anxiety and depression.
Yes, excess weight slows down human activity and causes several health problems. Generally the obese people, if not cautious of their health, suffer from diabetes and heart disease after 40-45 years of age. Also the excess body wt require higher maintenance causing more pressure on several organs and even legs, leading to physical distortion and ugly shape. These all finally reflects on the personality and smartness.
It is not possible to develop our mental and spiritual faculties without physical activity; excess weight cuts into that healthy cycle of building up 'life energy'.
There is no extra weight or less weight ,it all depends on how mindfull active or dormant you are ,have seen a overweight as per scientific methods live 102 years ,it all depends to live in a lifestyle suitable to the nature

A case study answer: I have never been a small woman. My Hungarian and Italian heritage may play a role in that, so might my love for cooking and eating. While I do believe size can limit some socialization and activity, I can also attest to the fact that I was an All-Area Volleyball player and in Track & Field (discus, shot put). I lifted weights with the football team! I started to run later in life for a few years but the pain of burning too much muscle tissue took me away from that form of exercise. While in my youth the extra weight did not encumber me, the long-term impact on my knees has had an impact on my lifestyle choices in terms of socialization and activity. The stigma associated with being large-framed and athletic in my youth compared to the thin status also hindered social action. In fact, it was a point of contention which made me hold onto my short-sighted vision of uniqueness that hoped that people accepted me for who I am compared to the long-term social and physical impact on my body. I did not understand that my body image would prevent me from being more involved in dating, etc. because I had been active in so many other things which I thought were more important than relationships. There is a lesson in this--shaming someone who is larger only compels them to take a stand that will hurt them in the long run. Educating someone into how their present decisions will impact their lives is a better way to induce change from within without creating body hatred and shame during the process. We are all built differently. I have personal preferences in males that I find more attractive just as males have personal preferences in females. But overall, sending the message of healthy eating and exercise is a good strategy to rid society of mental and social obstacles evident in bulimia and other food-body focused diseases. I constantly struggle with my weight even though I am successful and dedicated to my research and social inclusion. But I am aware of body differences in a way that someone who 'fits' in may not. I would also like to point out that I have lost the opportunity for some federal positions because of height/weight considerations. These positions, had I been open to body change instead of defiant, would have offered me a higher level of stability and standard of living. This is hard to say but also a truth that someone struggling with their weight might consider important.
Yes, excess weight affects our health, it also affects our personality by triggering certain diseases. In addition, obesity may have a serious and negative effects on the lifestyle of these persons.
Not if the excess weight is not in the "overweight" or "obseity" category. There is always an innate desire to stay lean and maintain the normal body weight by following a proper diet and staying active. At the same time I am not a fan of fad du jour chasing different new diet regimes such as Atkin's diet, South Beach diet, cabbage diet, kale diet, etc.
Well Dr- Huda Shihab jari, I like this type of questions:
At first, extra body weight, definitely, will affect a person's lifestyle, to the point he/she will not be able to tie a shoe.
If the person reached this stage, he/she must stop and think seriously to change, otherwise, the extra body weight will affect the personality sooner or later.
الوزن الزائد يؤثر على الشخص وعلى نمط حياته لكن المشكلة تكمن في أن الذين يعانون من زيادة الوزن لا يملكون الأرادة الحقيقة في الاعتراف بذلك وسعيهم للتغيير
as far as it concern with your health off course it affects your personality as there are diseases and disorders associated with overweight. for lifestyle it totally depends upon your confidence level. How you percieve your self.
it does affect you but it may be positive. Even underweight may affect you but positively. Moderation is always best but a range to move up or down is maybe better. Nothing is ideal
When one is overweight it can be a burden making everyday activity more difficult. When one is overweight it leads to more resistance to exercise and exercise is both a way to increase the metabolism and to reduce desire to over eat. The best exercise is moderate aerobic type which is complemented once a stamina level is achieved with weight bearing exercise. The best exercise program is one that is doable and sustainable and that you enjoy it is a life decision.
In relation to personality the overweight person may become less sure of her or him self due to reactions they get from people around them. There is considerable difference from society to society.
Being overweight is related to increased issues with diabetes, coronary issues and diverse conditions such as pulmonary issues and bone and joint problems.
The obese conditions complicates surgery issues and increases medical costs significantly.
One of the best ways to confront weight is to have good dietary habits combined with an atmosphere that fosters active physical education and sports.
To some extent depending on teh person's self-esteem. THose who are down on themselves for the weight problems are more likely to have issues with personality or life style.
The chicken and the egg are associated what came first the over weight issue or the esteem issue. This also heavily modified by culture for Polynesian the excess weight is part of being "heathy" and weight can have a significance in status and socioeconomic classes. As people have more means the thin ness becomes the status and in scarcity the fatness is has status. We are interesting in our continual outreach for what we may not be. The fact remains that I could be fat and proud of it but society would still bear some of issue as the system of health care becomes over burdened. I personally do not agree that I through shared cost should bear the weight of someone who does address underlying health issues which are preventable. Difficult in the sense that it does not seem that there is universal agreement on what would be reasonable and fair.
As far as my perception goes, excess weight may affect the lifestyle but not personality. Because those who have positive attitude will not have problems with personality.
One mistake many parents make is when they assume that childhood obesity is healthy. Research shows that obese children grow up to be obese adults. Obesity starts affecting life styles right from the childhood.
Montserrat Caballé had an excess weight, but what a bright woman she was... What a contrast with thousands of slim grey mice who only care about their physical bodies. I sincerely admire her voice and life. May she rest in peace...
Excess weight cause many illness also it can affect the lifestyle of the person. It can disturb the personality when the patient doesn't have a strong one.
Hello, body weight is a fundamental individual difference variable that has a pervasive effect on nearly every aspect of our lives. Although most commonly implicated in physical health, adiposity contributes to a variety of psychological processes, such as well-being, identity formation, and person perception.
Researchers have found four characteristics that typify the ''overweight personality'': you may have low self-esteem, poor self-control (or even eat compulsively), experience mood swings, or be prone to depression and anxiety. ... If they're present you're more likely to be overweight or obese.
