I advice to not pay that attention to RG score, it is only a measure of activity on RG, follow only your benefit through collecting references about a subject, follow experts, have answers to your questions, help others when you can.....etc.
As I mentioned many times, the non-academic side of RG is growing because of some shortcomings of its forum side. When someone posts an answer that reads "Following" or "How interesting" and gets 10-20 recommendations, which are subsequently reflected in their RG score, then there must be a problem,
One can also use simultaneously other research platforms. For instance, academia.edu does not have a forum side and everything is linked to the scholarship uploaded. There are, of course, issues to be solved on that platform as well, but at least some of the non-academic chat is left aside.
In my observation the scoring method of RG is remains in the right type of scrutiny & as such the scoring method reflect the right type of performance .
I disagree. In scientific research, performance is measured by the number of citations in international journals, as Google Scholar does it. A significant part of the RG score is made of the chat side on the forum. On RG, "Secrets of marriage" is a blockbuster greater that "Titanic." But is not about research.
