Does anyone have experience with the osmolysis of insect cells?

Recently I came across osmolysis as a method of lysing insect cells. It is a gentle method that doesn't lyse the nucleus. However I havent been able to find a proper protocol for this. There is a lot of variation between suggested protocols in articles and while some recommend it, others count it as uneffective.

Does any one have any experience with this method?
