I've recently acquired this vibratome which I plan to use to make organotypic slices. I have figured out how it works and I've practiced slicing some 4% agarose blocks (I plan to embed my tissue). However, I don't have a manual and I want to be sure that I am slicing at the right thickness (200-300µm) as I don't have an indicator to check the angle of the blade when it hits the block. Also, t is there a way I could place an inner chamber within the mounted bath as my ACSF needs to be ice-cold as well as oxygenated during the procedure? Thanks in advance.
I have found via Google search that Oxford Vibratome Model G has been manufactured in St. Louis by Technical Products International, now called Vibratome Company. You could contact the Vibratome Company and ask if they could possibly send you a pdf of a manual. The indicators for blade angle for older type vibratomes were just cardboard squares with printed lines/angles - ask the company if they could help with a gauge for this model.
