If so could you make a recommendation? We do mountains of IHC in the lab and I would love a machine to improve efficiency and throughput.
Hi. If we're processing large amounts of slides we use a BenchMark XT automating staining system from Ventana. It's also easier to optimize antibody staining and get rid of background when working with antibodies that have more background with manual IHC. No complaints really, but the reagents can be expensive so you really need to do large volumes of slides to make it worth your while.
Hi. In the lab we use the Insitupro VSI from Intavis. It works well and is sold at a quite reasonable price compared to the ventana system. You can process up to 60 slides at the same time. And it is a completely open system in which you can use all the reagents you want. Moreover, if you are interested you can also add a module allowing the processing of In toto hybridization. I hope it will help you in your choice.
