guanine quadruplexes are extremely stable DNA structures, especially in 100 mM KCl. For example this telomeric tetrahymena 22 nt long sequence ( (GGGGTT)3GGGG) has Tm>80°C after induction of G-quadruplex structure. For more details see Article Stability of telomeric G-quadruplexes
