I have a survey of concentrations of several metals in a culture with algae

the culture is about 450 ml, but initially I only filled with 380 ml water with algae, then I added 70 ml water (without algae) in the culture. and we have observed a big difference at the sampling at 30 minutes (see the attached graphic)

only this sampling has concentrations lower than others , especially for Fe, and Zn. (also SO4 and sum of rare-earth elements except Cerium)

(in the graphic, T=T0 = start point before adding water, T1= 30 minutes after adding water, T2 = 1h, T3=1h30, T4=2h, T5= 3h )

I wanted to use dilution effects to explain the phenomenon, but I didn't find any articles could help me to explain the observation. and all articles I v found on dilution effects of metal solutions seems not going to the same direction.

Could someone have experience help me with some reference please ?

Thanks a lot colleagues in science community
