Is there a difference between the beta amyloid marker Thioflavine-S and Methoxy-X04?
Is there a difference in plaque morphology? Is the target structure different?
thanks a lot.
Hi Chris Rupprecht . You probably mean thioflavin T (ThT).
ThT fluorescence is the current gold standard of whether a misfolded protein has amyloid structures or not.
If you are talking about Thioflavin S, there is a thread on RG that went through that.
https://www.researchgate.net/post/Does_anyone_know_why_Thioflavin_S_is_mainly_used_to_stain_amyloids_in_tissue_and_cell_culture_while_Thioflavin_T_is_used_for_in_vitro_detection
In my experience they both bind fibrillar amyloid. Sometimes staining with Thio-S will label something that methoxy-x04 will not, but that may be due to how I have accomplished the methoxy labelling (ip injection rather than staining a section)
Hi everyone, I've run an analysis of a latent 3-way interaction in Mplus (Y on XWZ). The estimate for this path is 0.000. S.E. is 0.000. Est./S.E. is 2.034. Two tailed p-value is 0.042. So,...
