DEAD/ALIVE (Syto9/PI) with a multireader well plate protocol?

Hello, I would like to test the viability of E. coli with the dead assay method with a multireader plate. Does somebody has a protocol for this? I tried to do it at OD=1 with my compounds (polymers that induce clustering) and the results I get after 24h (1 point each hour) are confusing as they do not correlate with the CFUs I plate after the experiment.

Also what is the survival time of Syto 9 and PI?
