Hello everybody.

I am actually working on glass slides silanization by different trimethoxysilanes like 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane.

I use a 2% fresh solution (cannot reuse) of this silane on Toluene, inside a polypropylene falcon tube, then I immerse the glass slide for 2 hours.

The problem with this method is :

1) I am using too much solvent and silane, for just a glass slide, about 400 microliters on 20 mL just to cover half the slide. This is not efficient.

2) Polypropylene is not resistant to Toluene and a wide range of other organic solvents like THF. So I might get contaminations on my glass slide.

Does any of you know of a container that will use less volume and is resistant to Toluene at least? I have been looking for PET containers but the only I found was a 300 mL one, that is too much volume and waste of my silane.

I hope somebody have experienced this before and can help me.
