are you ship on dry ice?

Dont know if ethanol precipitation will affect the cDNA although many people claim it does not. However, three days cDNA in EDTA or ddH20 will not be ideal. Dry ice will be the best bet

Thanks all, but I can not access to use dry ice as it is too expensive. so I think about using Biometrica RNA preservative. what do you see about this ? ..... as I need RNA but I talked about cDNA as it may be more stable but say that 3 days shipping of cDNA in room temperature will harm the samples. anyone can help and provide suggestions please ? ...... finally I need to get RNA or even cDNA in US but without degradation and I do not have the facility for using dry ice or even freezing -80 ... If you want to ship RNA, resuspend in 100 % formamide, seal tubes and ship check the article by Bowrin et al (2012). Room temperature did not harm the RNA that was shipped under these conditions. Try it at the bench first before sacrificing your sample. If you want to ship cDNA, just plot it on a filter disc as recommended Ekaterina. We have had no problems with such methods.

Ibrahim, cDNA is quite stable. Surely, shipping refrigerate samples would be the best option, but if not possible, I would not be very worried. I have forgot cDNA samples on my lab table for a weekend and runned qPCR experiments without problems later on.

cDNA is very stable. I have speed vac the samples, stored them at room temp and they were still ok. No need for freezing, no need for dry ice.

Thanks Maria, some advised me to do so and just shipping in an envelope by DHL even without freezing but just sterile and free from DNAses. and this is facility is available for me. but are you sure that there is no risk from this?

You can freeze dry your sample in lyophilizer (If facility is there) after this transportation is easy..

Sorry, I was not acquainted with the exact procedure. It was my colleague who sent me the plasmid. However, you've already been advised by several people how to do that.

You would want to make sure that the host institution in the US has received institutional biosafety approval for acceptance of the material in the format you will ship.
