Can I use protein with glycerol (added to prevent protein aggregation, and maintain stability during -80 storage) in mice (intraperitoneal) to study anti-inflammatory properties of the protein?
Just a note: For small volumes using molecular weight cut off centrifugal filters should also remove most of the glycerol. Also have you considered dialysis?
Hi Komal, I'm curious about the inflammation assay you are going to do. Are you going to inject a inflammation inducing agent along with your anti-inflammatory protein?
IP injections by themselves can cause inflammation.
@ Steingrimur Stefansson, yes I am going to inject inflammation inducing agent pre and post protein injection.
@Adam B Shapiro, I have gone through that paper, but the final concentration of glycerol in the protein I will be injecting is 10-15 times less than that used in the paper, so I am not sure of the effect.
@Steingrimur Stefansson, What I think is, by the time inflammation is generated against my protein, the protein might have done it's job, Correct me if I am wrong.
