Hello all,

I encapsulated citral in chitosan nanoparticles. Citral concentrations varied from 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1%. The encapsulation efficiencies increased at concentrations 0.25 and 0.50% and started decreasing at 0.75 and 1.0%. The highest encapsulation efficiency I have at the moment is 7.2%. With this low efficiency, can I still proceed with my in vitro antifungal activity?

On my previously asked question, I was told that since citral is poorly soluble in water and chitosan is hydrophilic, I may probably have low encapsulation efficiency which in this case I do have. Since I am on a research budget too, I cannot use other options as it stands now.

Kindly looking forward to your responses.

Thank you.
