Can any one tell me about feasibility of mixing water and ethanol with diesel fuel using emulsifier in diesel engine! please share work experience. can any one provide me access to any simulation software on which i can simulate performance with above mixing? thanks
I don't see what you are trying to do. If you add ethanol, well, at least it's a fuel and will burn. But if you add water, that will not do anything for the combustion process except probably make it harder to ignite the fuel by absorbing heat from the compressed fuel/air mix, and more important, it could rust the fuel system from the inside, and make it fail, and have rust particles get into and jam the injectors. I wouldn't recommend it.
You can inject water and methanol into a gas turbine (continuous flow diesel) to get more power, but I don't think this is done any more.

MIXING ETHANOL INTO DIESEL REDUCES HC AND CO ALSO. SO I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHAT WILL BE EFFECT OF PERFORMANCE, COMBUSTION & EMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF ENGINE BY USING EMULSION OF ALL THESE THREE-WATER, ETHANOL AND DIESEL WITH SUITABLE EMULSIFIER?

I would like know of these fruitful results too! I am very doubtful that this cocktail will achieve much. (1) where are you getting the ethanol from in such quantities? (2) You will get reduced NOx if you reduce the burn temperature and pressure which is what will happen if you add water, and I suspect you will also get more FeO - plain rust. If you are so keen on adding water then it has to be directly injected into the intake manifold and not mixed with the fuel. And this really isn't worth the hassle!

Vishal, there have been many trials of such blended fuels. Al Hassan, Mujafet & Al Shannag 2012 investigated ethanol/diesel blends and didn't think they were very effective - power reduced as expected and some diesel-ethanol mixtures actually separated. You will certainly get this if you add water. But don't let anyone stop you from trying it out! Just be aware that you need a fuel system tolerant to water content otherwise there will be problems! MR. TONY I THINK WHOLE WATER ADDED WILL BE VAPORIZED DURING COMBUSTION BECAUSE OF HIGHER TEMPERATURES ARE MAINTAINED INSIDE CYLINDER AND WATER EVAPORATES AT 100 DEGREE CENTIGRADE. WHAT'S YOUR OPINION ON THIS?
