The two dicarbonyls are described to be highly metabolized in diabetic patients, linked to our sepsis studies. We first found extremely high plasma concentrations of MG in septic mice. Now we have one collective where we found low MG but extremely high 3DG. Our recent inquiry to this topic was without success.

Hello Nadia,
to my knowledge a chemical conversion from 3DG to MG has not been reported, as 3DG in itself is quite stable.
