I bought the STA-811 kit (OxiSelect™ Methylglyoxal (MG) Competitive ELISA Kit) to measure the methylglyoxal-dependent protein damage in my human plasma/serum samples, though I do not know whether to dilute my samples. Sincerely, I think that the analyte (MG-H1) will be rather low in the blood (I am not dealing with diabetic individuals) but I cannot find any reference regarding the use of the STA-811 kit on plasma/serum specimens. Could anyone, please, suggest me how to proceed?

Standardizing the sample dilution factor is an important step in ELISA. I suggest you to create a standard curve initially by plotting the mean absorbance for each standard concentration against the target protein concentration. As you know the amount of analyte is very less in your sample, check whether your neat sample absorbance is fitting in your standard curve or not. If it is within the standard curve range, no need to dilute your sample. If the absorbance is exceeding the higher standard absorbance, then try with diluted sample.
