Hi there,
I am new to Bioinformatics and I am working on a project that requires me to identify orthologs of ABCC4. I have been using Uniport database, and have been identifying many redundant sequences. I have just switched to using NCBI blast, however, the search returned me different species from my previous identified on uniprot. Could anyone direct towards the best method of identifying the orthologs of ABCC4?

OrthoDB can give you homologs and already recognized orthologs (they're all named ABCC4). See the link to BioStar discussion on this topic and the list of popular computational tools therein whether any of them fit your needs.
While sequence similarity can give you a good idea about homology (common evolutionary origin), it is more difficult to prove orthology, since there you must only consider those homologs that originated from a speciation event (as opposed to gene/genome duplication).
